Congratulations to our amazing and talented Pauole Sport athletes who have qualified for The Ironman World Championships!  Years and years of hard work, focus, dedication, and sacrifice goes into earning an age-group slot to Kona.  This is extremely difficult and a goal that many Ironman athletes strive to attain.  The opportunity to race amongst the best triathletes in the world at the Ironman World Championships is often a once in a lifetime opportunity.  We are proud to have these athletes represent Pauole Sport as they compete in Hawaii.

Road to Kona – 2016

Aaron Burby – Coach Aaron is a 4 time Ironman World Championship qualifier and earned his qualifying slot at Ironman Lake Tahoe.  Aaron had an outstanding race, on the very challenging course, with a strong time of 10:14:19 and 5th in his age-group. He started his 2016 race season off with awesome performances at Wildflower and Ironman 70.3 Coeur D’Alene. Congratulations to Aaron on his well deserved trip back to Kona!

Robin Sayed – Coach Robin earned her qualifying slot last year at the very competitive Ironman Florida. Robin had a fantastic race and placed 7th overall and 2nd in her age-group in 10:31:32.  She started this year off with excellent performances at Ironman 70.3 California (4th age-group), Mt. Si 50 Miler and Penticton Aqua Bike (2nd overall).  Congratulations to Robin on earning another trip back to Kona!

Road to Kona – 2015

Derek Hill – Derek is a first time Ironman World Championship qualifier and earned his qualifying slot at Ironman Canada. He had a fantastic race, despite the tough race conditions, with a time of 10:18:29. His strong performance earned him 5th place in a competitive 40-44 age group. Derek also had the fastest bike split in his age-group. His consistent hard work and dedication all year paid off and we all look forward to seeing Derek race in Kona!

Leslye Teuber – Leslye qualified for the Ironman World Championships for the second time and will be competing in the 70-74 age group!  Les earned her qualifying slot at the Inaugural Ironman Fortaleza last November by winning her age–group (65-69).  She had an amazing race and was consistent and strong all day.  We are so proud of Leslye and her accomplishments and look forward to watching her compete in Kona!

Loree Bolin – Loree is a first time Ironman Championship qualifier and secured her Ironman slot at the Inaugural Ironman Fortaleza.  Loree had an outstanding race and placed first in her age-group (60-64) with a time of 14:21:23.  Loree’s strong performance earned her a well deserved trip to Kona.  We are happy for her and excited to see her race in Hawaii!

Thury Gudmundsdottir – Thury is a two time Ironman World Championship qualifier and earned her qualifying slot at Ironman Coeur D’Alene.  Thury had an outstanding race and placed 2nd in her age–group with an impressive 11:59:52.  She raced strong and consistent in very hot race conditions.   We are excited for Thury and look forward to seeing her race in Kona for the second year in a row!!

Road to Kona – 2014

Sarah Anderson –  Sarah is a first time Ironman Hawaii qualifier and earned a qualifying slot at Ironman Canada.  She had an amazing race with a time of 10:34:23 and placed 2nd in the very competitive 30-34 age-group.  Sarah started her race with a solid swim (1:10:57). She rode incredibly strong on a challenging bike course (5:41:29) and finished with a PR marathon run in a speedy 3:36:40. Sarah executed a fantastic race and earned a well deserved Kona slot. We are happy for her success and look forward to seeing her race in Hawaii!

Aaron Burby – Aaron had an exceptional race at Ironman Mt. Tremblant in August where he earned his qualifying slot. He placed 20th overall and 2nd in his age group with a blistering time of 9:32:13.  Aaron had a good swim, very strong bike and wrapped it up with a super fast marathon. He had one of the fastest marathon run times amongst the entire field with a 3:05:05.  He executed a fantastic race and earned himself a well deserved trip back to the Ironman World Championships.  This is Aaron’s 3rd trip to Kona and we look forward to seeing him race again!

Thury Gudmundsdottir – Thury is a first time Ironman World Championship qualifier and earned her qualifying slot at Ironman Canada.  This was only Thury’s second Ironman and she executed a fantastic race from start to finish.  She biked extremely strong with a 5:59:49 and ran a very fast marathon in 3:51:27.  Thury placed 3rd in her age–group with an impressive 11:21:22.   Her hard work and dedication all year paid off and we all look forward to supporting Thury in Kona!

Robin Sayed – Robin earned her qualifying slot last year at the Inaugural Ironman Lake Tahoe. She had an outstanding race and placed 2nd in her age-group at one of the most challenging Ironman courses in the country.  Robin started her 2014 race season off with strong performances at Ironman St. George 70.3 and Ironman Coeur D’Alene (3rd age-group and marathon PR).  Robin has had an excellent build up to Kona and looks forward to testing her fitness.  This is Robin’s  3rd trip to Kona and we look forward to seeing her race again!

Kris Stolmeier – Kris is a first time Ironman World Championship qualifier and secured her Ironman slot at Ironman Coeur D’Alene in June.  Kris had an outstanding race and placed 2nd in her age-group with a time of 11:59:31.  She started her race off with a PR swim and had the fastest bike split in her age-group, on an exceptionally windy day, by over 15 minutes (5:56:30).  Kris’s strong performance earned her a well deserved trip to Kona.  We are happy for Kris and excited to see her race in Hawaii!

Aaron Burby – Aaron is a two time Ironman World Championship qualifier. In April, he secured his qualifying slot for Kona at the this year’s very challenging Ironman South Africa. Aaron had an outstanding race and placed 3rd in his age group! He swam strong despite the extremely rough conditions on the swim, biked consistent and smart on a very windy course and stayed smooth and focused on the run. Aaron had one of the fastest marathon run times amongst the age groupers with a 3:11:48. He executed a fantastic race and earned himself a well deserved trip back to the Ironman World Championships. We are all very proud and happy for Aaron and look forward to seeing him race again in Hawaii!

Road to Kona – 2011

Dustin Gilbert – Dustin is a first time Ironman Hawaii qualifier and earned a qualifying slot at Ironman Canada. He had an amazing race in his Ironman debut (second triathlon ever) with a time of 9:49:31!! Dustin started his race with a solid swim (1:06:32). He rode very consistent and strong on a challenging bike course (5:18:47). He had a excellent run and moved himself up to 3rd place in his age-group, with a speedy 3:18:20 marathon. Dustin executed a fantastic race and earned a well deserved Kona slot. We are happy for his success and look forward to seeing him race in Hawaii!

Cathleen Knutson – Cathleen is a two time Ironman World Championship qualifier and earned her qualifying slot at Ironman Coeur D’Alene. She had a fantastic race and improved tremendously over her last year’s performance. Cathleen started her race with a swim PR (1:10:49) and the fastest bike split in her age group (5:26:56) and then ran a speedy and strong marathon (3:34:14). She executed a perfect race and placed 1st in her age group and was the second amateur female with a time of 10:16:02! We are all proud and excited for Cathleen and her amazing accomplishments and look forward to seeing her race again in Kona!

Kathryn Klepinger – Kathryn is a first time Ironman World Championship qualifier and earned a well deserved Kona slot at Ironman Coeur D’Alene. She executed an excellent race and placed second in the 50-54 age group with an impressive time of 12:01:30! Kathryn was so strong and focused all day and continued to move up the field with a strong bike (6:12:07) and run (4:17:17). The past several years of dedicated and consistent training paid off for Kathryn. We are so excited and proud of her and look forward to watching her race in Kona in October!

Cindy Rach – Cindy qualified for the Ironman World Championships for the second time at Ironman Coeur D’Alene.  Cindy had an outstanding race with a time of 13:47:06 and lead her age group (65-69) from start to finish! She started her race with a good swim (1:30:05).  She rode consistent and smart on a very hilly bike course (6:38:17) and stayed focused and strong on the run (5:25:00).  Cindy’s strong performance earned her a well deserved Kona slot and we all look forward to seeing her race again in Hawaii!

Robin Sayed – Robin is a two time Ironman World Championship qualifier and earned her qualifying slot in June at Ironman Coeur D’Alene. She had an outstanding race and placed 3rd in the very competitive 40-44 age group with a time of 11:16:21! Robin had a swim PR (1:06:37) and the fastest bike split in her age group of 5:34:46. Robin’s strong work ethic, focus, and desire to excel continues to impress her teammates. We are very happy for Robin and look forward to seeing her race in Hawaii!

Judy Sentz – Judy is a first time Ironman World Championship qualifier. She earned her Ironman slot at Ironman Coeur D’Alene in June. Judy had a very impressive race and placed 1st in her age-group (60-64) with a time of 14:28:49! All of her hard work and consistent training all year paid off as she came out of the swim in 1:19:42 and continued with a strong bike and solid run. We are all very proud of Judy and her accomplishments and we are excited to see her race in Kona!

Lisa Walker – Lisa qualified for the Ironman World Championships for the fourth time.  She secured her qualifying slot at Ironman Coeur D’Alene by winning her age group with a time of 11:15:22!  Lisa lead her age group from start to finish.  She had a great swim (1:05:13), a superb bike (5:57:34) and ran a very strong marathon (4:06:50).  Lisa executed a fantastic race and we are excited to be supporting her in Kona.
